This year there are so many wonderful ways to celebrate the season across Southern California. We’ve highlighted a few fun options in the cities near our Far West Communities in Riverside, Orange County and Marina del Rey.

Costa Mesa

Holiday events are happening in Costa Mesa! From the return of A Christmas Carol at South Coast Repertory to Night of Lights OC at OC Fair & Event Center, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Consider some of these suggestions from the Costa Mesa Travel Bureau:

Segerstrom Center for the Arts 5th annual Holidays Around the World celebrates holiday traditions from around the world with live performances from local music and dance groups, seasonal crafts and a snowfall on Argyos Plaza! You can see Holidays Around the World on December 11th.

Young children will love Holiday Story Time with Mrs. Claus at SOCO & The OC Mix. Mrs. Claus will read stories and lead a holiday sing-a-long every Saturday through December 18. Kids get to make and take home their own musical instrument, plus enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, seasonal treats and take photos with Mrs. Claus. The event is free, but tickets are required.

South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa

South Coast Plaza’s giant outdoor Christmas tree, along with its two other towering siblings indoors, will evoke wonder and get everyone in a holiday mood. South Coast Plaza is the only shopping center in all of California with a trio of magnificent giant Christmas trees Each tree is unique and beautifully decorated with a theme, making all of them popular sites for our guests’ selfies and photos with family and friends throughout the holiday season.

Riverside

The 2021 Mission Inn Festival of Lights will return with lighting displays and décor along Main Street. The event will open as a self-guided holiday lighting and décor experience until Thursday, January 6, 2022. Don’t miss it as the Festival of Lights is recognized as one of the nation’s largest holiday light collections and voted “Best Public Lights Display” by USA Today.

Marina del Rey

Celebrate the spirit of the season by shopping local. The Marina del Rey visitor’s bureau encourages everyone to give the gift of an experience this year such as a guided tandem kayak tour in the harbor or private sunset cruise.
